Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend Scott County High School’s Pre-Season Hoopfest. Coach Steve Helton does a great job with his high school program, and put together a very good event. He brought 28 teams to Georgetown, KY for what is arguably the best pre-season event in the state of Kentucky. There were several big time players and players that we have covered before but, there were more than the fair share of players that could fly under the radar.

*Elizabethtown players will be covered in a write up coming out later this week from the ETown event that occurred this weekend.

2016

Emma Young, 5’10 Guard, East Jessamine HS – Young is one of my favorite players to watch. She has a very solid frame, can score the ball off the dribble or on the catch. She has vastly improved her range and is now a serious threat from 3. Does all of the little things, makes hustle plays, communicates on defense, and is more willing to take a charge than any player I’ve seen. Emma will end up being a solid mid-major player. She has offers from Eastern Kentucky and Marshall, and will soon have others come rolling in.
