Clockwise (starting top left) – 2023 Aaliyah Henderson, 2022 Modesti McConnell, 2020 Rylee Langerman, 2021 Se’Quoia Allmond, 2021 Taleah Dilworth, Hive Eval Packet, 2022 Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda

Oklahoma City – The 2017 Battle at the Hive featured 122 teams from 4th grade to HS competing in 10 separate divisions.  I did my best to cover as many teams as possible but with 4 sites and games played mainly on Saturday and Sunday, it was hard to see everyone.  I didn’t spend any time watching the 4th and 5th grade divisions, accounting for 19 teams.  I tried my best to see the remaining 103 teams, but despite my efforts I missed some good teams and good players including 8th grade Gold division winners KC Future 2021.

Every player mentioned has an invite to the InsiderExposure.com Jr. All-American Camp, June 10-11 in Memphis and can expect an email from me.

InsiderExposure.com ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM –

Aaliyah Henderson – 5’8 CG – 2023 – Irving MS – OK Lady Thunder – Well developed player for her age, with huge upside, maybe the best upside of any player at the event.  Her body is strong and athletic, she already has good size for a guard, and could easily pass for a HS player. Lefty with legit handles and super explosive athlete who finishes drives to the rim.

Amauri Williams – 6’3 Post – 2022 – North Little Rock MS – Arkansas Dazzlers – One of the best post players at the event, sat down and sealed her man on the post, has good mobility and decent hands.  Did a good job of passing out of the post to open shooters.  Solid strong frame, not too lean nor too wide.

Chloe Clardy – 5’8 CG – 2023 – Carl Stuart MS – Arkansas Dazzlers – One of the few players who played “up” an age group, and yet she completely dominated her competition.  Very good finisher in traffic and got to the rim with ease.  Very smooth with good IQ and good athleticism.

Modesti McConnell – 5’7 PG – 2022 – Sequoyah MS – OK Lady Fire 2022 – The best player on the best team in her age group.  There wasn’t much McConnell couldn’t do.  She shot the ball extremely well, played with a good motor, and was unselfish, dropping dimes to her teammates.  Great teammate and team player.

Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda – 5’8 SG – 2022 – St. Mary – OSA Crusaders – Watching her play, I’m not sure if she truly understands her potential and ability.  She had some possessions where she didn’t dominate to the maximum of her ability.  On other possessions the long lanky guard completely took over grabbing a defensive rebound, going coast to coast, displaying athleticism, handles and the ability to score at the rim.  The potential is there, big upside.

R’Mani Taylor – 5’6 PG – 2021 – Manvel MS – Houston Skyrise (Edmond) 2021 – Really fun player to watch, threw multiple long passes accurately and to a moving target, displayed nice handles and court vision, dropped some beautiful dimes to her teammates and finished fluidly with both hands.

Se’Quoia Allmond – 5’8 PG – 2021 – Bellevue MS – Memphis War Eagles 2021 – Nice size and build for an athletic PG, Allmond may have had the best handles at the event.  Really nice in & out dribble, between the legs and behind the back, she was able to move the ball around even under pressure in heavy traffic.  Had a nice euro step on a drive to the rack and played with an upbeat attitude and good motor.

Taleah Dilworth – 5’9 SG – 2021 – – Team STL (True Game 8th) – Versatile player who did whatever her team needed her to.  Played in the high post vs zone and also ran the PG spot some.  Very good in transition, did a great job getting to the rim and scoring or drawing contact, sometimes both.  Displayed a smooth pull up jumper and made some very nice passes.

Taylor Morgan – 5’7 CG – 2020 – Midland HS – CyFair Shooters – Rich – An intriguing player that I previously “eval’ed” during the I-45 event in the fall.  Much better than she looks, with the ability to attack the basket and finish athletically with either hand.  Quick release on perimeter jumpers and a good enough handle to create space and get her shot off.  Stock up from the fall.

Rylee Langerman – 5’9 PG – 2020 – Christian Heritage Academy – OK Swarm Bluestar 15u (SE4L) – Enjoyed watching Rylee play last year during my first trip to the hive but was thoroughly impressed this year.  She scored in a variety of ways, including floaters and muscling it up over smaller, weaker guards.  Really good in transition but also under control in the halfcourt and able to execute offense.  Look forward to seeing her grow throughout her HS career.  Good size and speed.
