Washington, DC, Elmira, NY, Binghamton, NY & Palm Coast, FL – Three straight days out & about in the northeast had me ready to be back in Florida.  Brrrrrrrr, thankfully the basketball was awesome. Once back in Florida I must have brought the cold with me, I enjoyed 2 chilly days at the Moramarco Challenge in Palm Coast.

First stop was Title IX in DC.  Saladin Reese has done a tremendous job of putting together what is arguably the biggest HS event under 1 roof.  It’s awesome because you can see every team that plays in the event without having to go outside in the cold, Brrrrr.

Joe Fenelon & My wife traveled with me from DC, leaving at 8:30pm we drove thru the night to get to Binghamton, NY and a first year event hosted by Greg Johnson of NDO called the Fighting Breast Cancer Holiday Classic.

We attended the opening game of the #FBCHC in Binghamton which featured my alma mater Union-Endicott vs Holcombe Rucker of NYC then took off for the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic in Elmira, NY.  Elmira is about an hour west of Binghamton and the event is not a dedicated girls event.  In fact it’s got 2 boys divisions and the girls division is mainly local teams.  Fortunately the “final 4” of the event was really good, it featured Seton Catholic (Bignhamton) vs Bishop Kearney (Rochester) & Elmira vs Cardinal O’Hara (Buffalo).

Finally on day 3 on the road, we went back for Championship Day at the FBCHC in Binghamton.  There were some great games including U-E vs Hudson Catholic (NJ); Binghamton (NY) vs Summitt (NY); Rock Creek Christian (MD vs Mary Louis (NY).  S/o to Greg Johnson, he did an amazing job with his first ever event.

My last 2 days in the gym during Post Christmas break, came locally about an hour down the road from my house for the Moramarco Challenge.  There, Robert Moramarco had a nice collection of teams and an intriguing Winter Haven vs Nease matchup that WH won by 2 points in a thriller.

Since we are already a week past these events, I thought I would simply recognize some of the top players.
