The Order of Finish (With some notes) –

IE ISNC 1st Place – Riverdale Baptist (MD) – Nice run in the event especially playing without Honesty Scott-Grayson and super soph Elizabeth Martino.  Taking away most teams starting backcourt would paralyze a team, but the crusaders persevered throughout the event.  The first night, they survived a tough Carolina Prep squad 61-55, then beat IMG in close game in the semis 51-44 and overcame a super hot RCCA in the Finals 67-55.  As a coach you face constant scrutiny when you have a team loaded like RBS.  Hats off to coach Bozeman for guiding his team to the Championship despite missing 2 big time guards.  Shakira Austin and Lauren Ebo both stepped up and it was Riverdale’s inside game that really propelled them with both seniors scoring in double figures in the semis and championship games.

2. Rock Creek Christian Academy (MD) – Beat a nice DME squad in the quarterfinals 71-50 in a game where they just had too many pieces for DME to deal with.  In one of the more interesting matchups faced Westridge who they lost to 62-25 just weeks before at the Mecca.  The rematch was a totally different game.  RCCA and Westridge went basket for basket in a classic game.  Rock Creek outlasted Westridge in OT after Carrie Gross and KK Deans traded baskets, Westridge couldn’t hit some FTs that would have tied the game at the buzzer.  Finally in the Championship they jumped on Riverdale in the first half but ran out of gas in the 2nd half.  Hats off to coach Boogie, staff and players for an awesome performance.

3. WestRidge (NC) – Crestwood from Canada hung tough for 2.5 quarters and then Westridge dispatched them 51-30 in the quarterfinals.  In the semi’s they had a chance to tie the game in OT but failed, falling to RCCA 64-62.  In the 3rd place game, Westridge was clicking on all cylinders, just crushing IMG from the jump, leading by 25+ in the 2nd quarter and winning 69-40.  KK Deans and Jordan Tuff where outstanding, as was Madison Moore.

4. IMG (FL) – Started the tournament off slowly, down at half to Sinai Christian, then used a monster half from Jala Jordan and crew to win 79-68 in the highest scoring game in the event.  In the next round they played extremely well jumping on Blair early for a 75-57 rout.  Having to play 2 games on Saturday after 2 spectacular performances may have worn down IMG some losing to Riverdale Baptist 51-44.

5. Blair (NJ) – Coach Quint Clarke’s team was down to 6 healthy players, but that didn’t stop them from playing extremely well despite having one of the toughest schedules time wise.  On Friday night they played a tough TPLS squad at 8:30pm winning 59-50, then turned around and played IMG at 11am Saturday morning.  After losing that one, they had to play again at 2:30 versus a very feisty and scrappy Carolina Prep team.  They were able to hang on to a 70-64 win.  Then on Sunday at 10:45am they played and beat Crestwood from Canada 65-51 in the 5th place game.

6. Crestwood (ON, CAN)
7. Carolina Prep (NC)
8. DME (FL)

Consolation Teams –
Putnam Science (CT)
FL Prep (FL)
Sinai Christian (NJ)
W. Toronto Prep (ON, CAN)
