Covering Prospective Student-Athletes in the SouthEast US and beyond
After a nice 7 and a half hour drive, I arrived at Spooky Nook Sports Complex. I Picked up my media packet and headed to my hotel. Not really looking around the night before, I got up early for the eight AM games and walked in and realize that I was at a boys Under Armour event I thought. Then quickly I realized this was the girls UAA. They did a great job putting this league together, marketing it and branding it. Throughout the day Under Armour showed that they have some of the best talent across the whole country in this league. Here are a few of the names that stood out to me this weekend.
Hannah Edwards 6″6 post 20 All Alabama roadrunners 17u uaa
Hannah has Good Feet and moves well for her size. She’s Able to score over both shoulders and does a good job of cleaning up the boards. She passes well out of the post and starting the break. Definitely a kid to keep your eye on.
Amelia Osgood 5″9 Pg 21 B Wright 16 uaa
Amelia is a very crafty point guard. She is able to create for teammates and herself with the ball and without. She scores from all three levels consistently. Does a good job of keeping defenders in front of her and playing passing Lanes. She is one of my favorite kids that was at this event.
Savannah Dews 6″2 wing 21B Wright 16 uaa
Savannah is a long, super athletic wing. She’s able to guard multiple positions due to her height and length. Able to knock down the 15-footer and get to the cup and score over top of taller Defenders. Able to rebound outside of her area.
Alyssa Wadkovsky 6″2 22 forward Carolina Elite 16 uaa
Alyssa has great size and athletic ability. She does a great job on the boards and mixing it up on the defensive end. She does a great job finishing around the basket with contact. I look forward to seeing her add a 15-footer to her game. She is definitely a kid to keep your eyes on.
Kate Hollifield 5″9 CG 22 Carolina Elite 16 UAA
Kate is a good athlete and has a high basketball IQ. Super deadly with the ball in her hands and able to score from all three levels and get to the cup or get to her spots for shots whenever she wants. Does a good job on defense keeping the man in front of her and does a good job playing passing Lanes. Definitely think this kid has a bright future as well.
Tate Walter 5″9 CG 20 FBC United Hunt 17 uaa
Tate is a tremendous shooter from Deep. Does a good job of creating space and getting to the cup. She also seizes the floor well. She Did a good job getting her team into sets. With her shooting ability she can do it all three ways, off of screens, off the bounce or off the catch.
Lydia Freeman 6″5 post 20 FBC United Hunt 17 UAA
Lydia is a big body post that has great hands and able to score over either shoulder. Does a good job on help-side getting to the spot and Walling up. Able to use the links to tip passes to yourself to go get finishes and rebounds.
Breya Busby 5″4 Pg 21 Lady Phoenix Elite 17uaa
Breya extremely fast point guard able to getting to the laying to score or create space to knock down the three. Is a little Nat on defense makes it hard for the for the other team’s point guard to get into their offense. When she does get into the Lane she is able to score over taller Defenders.
Malaya Cowles 6″3 Wing/Forward 21 Lady Phoenix Elite 17uaa
Malaya is a great athlete with length and really good hands. She is able score from two levels with ease and can knock down the three-point ball as well. She does a great job of rebounding and able to start the break. All BCS schools should know who this kid is.
Summer and Indya Davis 5″8 CG 24 Michigan Storm 15uaa
The set of twins are really good. Both of them are very athletically able to get to the cup when they want to. Both can knock down the 15-footer off the pull-up. These two can both play well. I can’t wait to see them at the next event to see what they’ve added to their game. They have a bright future.
Alivia Evans 5”11 CG 22 Team Felton 15uaa
I’ve been following Alivia for the past 2 years. every time I get a opportunity to see her she’s added something new fo her game. She’s a lights-out three-point shooter. If they run her off the line she’s able to get to the cup and finish their contact or knock down the 15 pull up. On the defensive end she’s able to hold her own with guards or forwards.
Paulina Paris 5”7 Pg 22 Team Rio 17uaa
Paulina is a really good point guard for only being a 22. She’s able to get her team into the offense and is able to score from multiple levels. She is able to create for herself and teammates with a ball in her hand .On defense she’s a great on-ball defender and has really good hands. Another kid all college coaches should start taking a look at.
Milaysia Fulwiley 5”6 Pg 23 Sc76er 17 Uaa
If you didn’t know who this kid was before this past weekend you definitely know who she is now. She was able to score from all three levels and Able to create opportunities for teammates and herself with the ball in her hand. Most of the time it looed like it came so easy to her, almost like she was bored out there. All BCS coaches, you should definitely have this name highlighted out of this weekend.
Ashlyn Watkins 6”2 wing 22 Sc76er 17uaa
Ashlyn has a great frame and is super athletic. She does a good job on the offensive and defensive boards and she’s able to block shots with ease. She is able to put combinations and moves together to score from the low post High post.
Marleyla Washenitz 5”9 Sg 22 Wv Thunder 15uaa
Marleyla is an outstanding score. She’s able to put the ball on the deck and get to the cup and score. she can also knock down three ball with a high consistency. Defensively on the ball she creates problems and does a good job on help-side defense.
Allie Ziebell 5”9 wing 24 Wisconsin flight 15uaa
Allie was the best player on the court the two times I saw her play this past weekend and that is saying a lot since she was playing two grades up. She has all the tools to be super successful. She can score from all three levels. She’s a dog on defense, on and off the ball.
Madison Lovelace 6”4 22 Wing/Forward B Wright 15u rise
Madison has great size and length has really good footwork as well. She’s Able score with both hands around the basket and can knock down the 15-foot jump shot at a high consistency. She does a great job on the boards and can rebound outside of her area. Another kid college coaches should put down and make sure they get a chance to see.
Ashanti Lynch 5”7 22 Cg Team Felton 16urise
Ashanti is a great athlete. Able to get into the paint anytime she likes. She does a great job finishing through contact. She also does a great job of creating space to knock down the pull up or create for teammates. Defensively she really gets after it and is able to play the Passing Lane and use her athletic ability to make it hard on offense.
Iycez Adams 6”0 wing 21 Team Felton 16urise
Iycez is a great athlete and super long. She is able to guard multiple and guard multiple positions due to athletic ability and length. She does a great job rebounding and starting to break. She has Shown that she could knock down open jump shots and create opportunities to get to the cup or show off her pull up. Another kid coaches should come take a look at.
Justine Pissott 6”2 SG 22 Nj Shoreshots
Justine is a long athletic shooter that can knock it down from really deep. She is super crafty with the ball and able to create space for herself to get her shot off or get to the bucket. She is ready to shoot on the catch. She is definitely a kid college coaches should we looking at now.
Anna Foley 6”0 Wing/Forward 23 Evoelite
Anna has a great size and able to move well. She does a great job on the defensive end of deflecting or blocking shots from the help side. She does a great job on the boards clearing them. She Runs the floor and can finish in transition. I Think this kid has a bright future ahead and I look forward to seeing what she adds to our game.
Marina Callahan 6”0 Wing/Forward 21 Evoeelite
Marina is a long shooter who is able to knock down the three ball. She has a high IQ and able to create space and opportunity with the ball or without the ball for herself in teammates. When getting to the paint she’s able to finish through contact. I look forward to seeing her again and seeing what she adds to our game.
I could sit here writing all day about all the kids. These were just some of the highlights of everyone I saw. I look forward to being at session 2 in Indianapolis in July.
